Until recently, the act of calling someone on the telephone for “solicitation” was not generally regarded as entirely “appropriate” for law firms. It is, however, entirely ethical if done correctly.
As of January 2023, we are able to supply telephone numbers for the DUIs in Northern Va as provided by the court records!
Rather than do a direct solicitation phone program, a forward thinking firms could host a short DUI seminar (Outreach Program) in their office every other Tuesday evenings starting at 5:30pm. If you promote this educational seminar without any pressure, making the invitational phone call is very easy.
If no one shows up, you can go home on time. However, experience has taught us that “if you build it, they will come”!
Then it is your moment to shine! Show them your approach to DUI defense, the “do’s and don’ts” of a traffic stop etc. Sometimes this is the difference between your approach and the competitions that makes the decision!
